Elderly woman hit by stray bullet in Bronx

An elderly woman was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet when a gunman opened fire on a group of rivals in the Bronx, authorities said.

Norberta Duval, 79, was crossing the street near River Avenue and East 153rd Street at around 4 p.m. just as two rival groups were in the midst of a dispute, police sources said.

One of the men fired an unknown type of weapon, striking the innocent woman in the stomach.

“She was crossing the street and she just went down,” said an employee at a nearby thrift shop.

“She comes in my store all the time. I hope she makes it.”

Duval was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in serious condition, cops said.

Police were searching for a Volkswagen SUV that may have fled the scene Monday night.
