The anguished girlfriend of Philip Wood, an American onboard missing Flight 370, is holding onto the threads of their everyday life together as she awaits his return.
“Dearest love, I hope you are able to get some rest where you are, and that they are feeding you. Any chance they include a glass of wine with dinner?” Sarah Bajc asks wistfully on her Facebook page.
In a series of heart-tugging notes written directly to the man she calls her life partner, Bajc, in Beijing, recalls a party they attended, points out she can’t just let him win their latest “Words with Friends” game by default and tells him about her day.
Almost every missive ends the same: with her begging for the IBM executive’s safe return.
“Good morning blue eyes. I hope you are able to get some rest in these dark hours that we share so far apart,” she writes after Flight 370’s disappearance.
The couple had planned on relocating to Kuala Lumpur, and Wood was heading to Beijing to meet Bajc for the journey back to Malaysia, according to reports. The emotional but playful status updates on her personal Facebook page stand in contrast to the serious demeanor Bajc has presented in media interviews.
On March 15, Bajc pointed out the full moon, writing, “Remember the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan? It was a little cloudy, and a little commercial, but as always we still had fun. I miss you so much. Please come back to me.”
Bajc appears unwilling to give up hope that the 239 people aboard the vanished Boeing 777 are alive and well.
“Good morning baby, how are you holding up?” she wrote on March 13, adding, “I’m doing my best to bring you hope and courage to continue the fight . . . Can you feel my love coming through to you? It is bottomless, so it should be able to reach, no matter where you are.”
