Crowded ‘official’ debate

It’s going to be mighty crowded at the first “official” mayoral debate.

The Campaign Finance Board, which requires candidates receiving public matching funds to participate in its debates, announced yesterday that seven contenders would be at its first Democratic mayoral showdown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Town Hall.

They include Sal Albanese and Erick Salgado, who barely register in the polls and have been shut out of some other debates.

The CFB’s first GOP mayoral debate will be held Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at the CUNY Graduate Center on 34th Street.
