‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator in Twitter war

‘Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter is engaged in a nasty Twitter war with Jason Hervey, the executive producer of Discovery’s motorcycle-club reality show, “The Devils Ride” (and the onetime co-star of ABC’s “The Wonder Years” as Fred Savage’s annoying older brother).

“Anarchy,” which has aired for six seasons on FX, dramatizes the (often-brutal) life of a Northern California motorcycle club, SAMCRO. “The Devils Ride,” in its third season on Discovery, follows the real-life members of Sinister Mob and Laffing Devils, warring motorcyle clubs based in San Diego, Calif.

Sutter fired the first shot last week. “is devil’s ride still on? my thespians are harder than these bitches,” he tweeted from @sutterink. “don’t take my word, ask any OMC in the f—ing world.”

“Man U talk s- -t,” Hervey tweeted back. “U put ur cast in front of u, but not u? EP Vs. EP. Anytime.”

“i may have to buy all the devils chocolate valentine hearts. they’re feelings are so hurt,” Sutter tweeted back. “especially the fat one from the wonder years.”

And on it goes. “We’re fans of ‘SOA’ and Kurt Sutter and it’s cool that we are on his radar,” Hervey told me via e-mail. “However it’s not so cool for him to question the authenticity of our show when he never spent a moment on our set watching how we capture reality NOT produce fiction . . . He believes his cast is tough and we are sure some of them are, but if he’s the one with the issue don’t put your cast in front of you . . . step out front.”

Sutter’s response? “It’s Twitter, all I do is stir s- -t up. That’s my job,” he said via e-mail. “I promote my show, impart disturbing wisdom and rip off scabs.”
