Male model avoids jail in fiancee choke case

A male Wilhelmina model accused of choking, biting and imprisoning his Guess Jeans-model fiancée in their West 31st Street apartment last September copped to harassment Friday as part of a no-jail plea deal.

Brazilian Romulo Pires DaSilva, who left his blue-eyed brunette lover Thais Oliveira battered and bruised, pleaded guilty to a violation Friday in Manhattan Criminal Court.

If he attends six months of private counseling and abides by an order of protection, he’ll have no criminal record.

More importantly, prosecutors will limit the order of protection so the lovebirds can be together again.

Oliveira, who still wants to marry the hunk, wouldn’t cooperate with prosecutors and wanted the charges dropped.

“He didn’t do anything wrong, she didn’t think he did anything wrong,” said defense lawyer Jeffrey Chabrowe. “They want to be together and they want this to be over and the only way we could do that is to get this done.”

Oliveira told cops her mechanic-turned-model boyfriend had squeezed her throat while holding her down on their bed and bit her on the back of the neck, according to the criminal complaint.
