LT tees off on Esiason: ‘Boomer’s a d—head’

Lawrence Taylor can still hit quarterbacks as hard as ever.

The Hall of Fame linebacker, the subject of a new documentary — “LT: The Life & Times” — on Showtime, is furious that long-standing adversary Boomer Esiason appeared in the film, considering the quarterback’s history of criticizing the former Giant. Taylor railed against what he considers Esiason’s hypocrisy in a profanity-laced radio interview.

“What the hell you got Boomer Esiason on something that — a piece you do of me? We can’t stand each other, he don’t know a f–k about me. What the hell’s he doing on it?” Taylor told Sid Rosenberg of 640 WMEN radio.

“First of all, Boomer’s a d—head,” Taylor added. “Hey, listen. I remember when he was there running the streets, screwing all kind of hoes. Don’t give me that holier than thou s–t. I don’t wanna hear that s–t. … He gets off on it. He’s still talking about me. I ain’t talking about him.”

The documentary gives an in-depth look into Taylor’s off-the-field issues with drugs and women, but Taylor didn’t see the full film until attending a screening in New York City two days before it debuted.

Esiason, the WFAN radio host who played for the Jets and won the 1988 MVP with the Bengals, two years after Taylor won the award, also works at CBS, setting him up to appear in the Showtime (a CBS affiliate) production on Taylor.

During his interview, Esiason said Taylor was unjustly given preferential treatment by former coach Bill Parcells despite his troublesome lifestyle.

Esiason similarly slammed Taylor when “60 Minutes” profiled the Giants great nearly a decade ago.

“[Taylor] talks about how he circumvented the NFL’s drug testing policy by using other players’ urine. That is an affront,” Esiason said on the NFL Today. “The fact that he shouldn’t even been playing because he would have failed the drug test in the first place … I have a 12-year-old at home. He wants to ask me about what is crack cocaine?”
