9 ‘Frozen’ covers that you need to hear

After months of anticipation, the day has finally arrived — “Frozen” is now available for digital purchase from iTunes and Amazon, and for rental at Walmart’s Vudu (the Blu-ray and DVD releases come next month). Congratulations — you’re now going to hear your kids screaming “THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED ME ANYWAY” more than ever before.

Give yourself a little relief from the monotony by listening to one of these epic covers of the film’s songs — guaranteed to be much better than that awful Demi Lovato version.

Christina Bianco

Actress Christina Bianco brings the funny with her cover of “Let it Go” via impressions of Idina Menzel, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Alanis Morissette and more.

Fact: Everything is better with a ukulele. “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” is no exception, as proven here by YouTube user uuuuuuuukewithme.

Maddie and Zoe

These two four-year-olds, Maddie and Zoe, are still working on their vocal chops, but we like them just the way they are.

Jolan Carl Abaquin

Awww, this guy (Jolan Carl Abaquin) proposed to his girlfriend after they sang a karaoke duet to “Love is an Open Door.” It’s adorable — as long as you ignore that this song is actually a parody of classic Disney princesses falling in love with someone they barely know.

Were you thinking that the only thing that would make “Frozen” better is if it shared a bit of “The Lion King”? Then here you go, courtesy of Alex Boyé, Lexi Walker and the One Voice Children’s Choir.

Sam Tsui

The song title “Let it Go” shares two out of three words with the current radio smash by Passenger, “Let Her Go.” Does Sam Tsui need a better reason for a mash-up of the two? Of course not!

Bob Herzog

It must get pretty boring reporting on traffic all the time. So Cincinnati’s Bob Herzog took matters into his own hands with his snow travel plea, “Just Don’t Go.”

Serena

You know how it goes, you’re singing along to “Let it Go” just fine, and then that decrescendo comes and nope, that note ain’t happening. YouTube user Serena’s lament perfectly captures your frustration.

The Piano Guys

The Piano Guys mix up “Let it Go” with none other than the classic Vivaldi’s “Winter.” Sometimes all you need is some keys and strings.
