Brass knuckles bust makes Chris Culliver biggest creep in the NFL

Chris Culliver could go from offensive to his first offense.

The controversial 49ers cornerback is facing three charges after a hit-and-run incident in San Jose. Culliver allegedly hit a bicyclist, then fled the scene. He is being charged with two misdemeanors: hit and run with injury and hit and run. But he’s also being charged with felony possession of metal knuckles, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Culliver allegedly threatened a motorist who tried to stop him from fleeing the scene with brass knuckles. He was not charged with threatening a witness. Culliver has no criminal history and could avoid jail time, though the felony charge carries up to a three-year prison sentence.

But Culliver does have a different kind of vile history since being drafted out of South Carolina by the 49ers in 2011. Culliver made headlines before Super Bowl XLVII when he was asked about gay players in the locker room.

“I don’t do the gay guys. I don’t do that …,” Culliver said.  “We don’t have any gay guys on the team. They gotta get up outta here if they do. Can’t be with that sweet stuff.”

He later apologized and was later picked on by Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in a 34-31 Super Bowl loss for the 49ers.

But Culliver, who went to sensitivity training following the Super Bowl comments, wasn’t done offending people. Last April, he posted a text conversation on Instagram in which he referred to women as “b—–s” and “h—s.” He would pull the post down.

His latest trouble won’t be so easy to erase.
