City school kids will not get an automatic day off Thursday as the Department of Education announced public schools will remain open in advance of the winter storm.
NYC public schools will be open on time Thursday morning but all school field trips are cancelled, a Department of Education spokesperson said.
The winter storm is expected to bring at least six inches of snow to the metropolitan area.
