SUPER MAN A SURVIVOR

A Brooklyn gang member fatally shot by a rival had tried to stave off gunfire by using a building super as a human shield — but the shooter was able to kill his target without harming the worker, police sources said yesterday.

Andre Avant, 19, grabbed the super after barging into his building on Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where he was chased by gun-wielding Tyrell Warren, 19.

“He fell over and placed the super over his body,” a police source said. “They were nose-to-nose.

“The super didn’t even see the gunman. All he saw was when a gun came into his frame of vision and Avant was shot.”

The victim was shot in the armpit and in the jaw and died at the scene at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, cops said. The gunman then left without harming the super, who has not been named, said cops.

Warren was arrested minutes later and charged with murder.

Both Warren and Avant had long rap sheets, cops said.
