GIRL’S FEVER NIGHTMARE

It went from bad to worse for a St. Francis Prep sophomore last week — and by last night, she was so sick, her doctor told her not to come into the office for fear she would infect others, the girl’s mom said.

Karen Andrle, mother of 15-year-old Nicole, said the doctor fears her daughter has the Mexican strain of swine flu that has sickened at least eight of her Queens schoolmates.

“My daughter on Friday asked me if she was going to die because of Mexico,” the mom said. “I think that’s the fear a lot of these kids have.”

Karen Andrle said Nicole began feeling sick with a headache Tuesday, had a bad cough Wednesday and no appetite on both days.

“Friday was just downhill,” she said, adding that Nicole is fighting a 101-degree fever and sore throat.

The mom said she called a hospital ER and was told to bring the girl in if her condition worsened.

She plans to take Nicole this morning.

“She can’t pick her head up. It’s scary,” Karen Andrle said.

Adding to her fears “is I have a son, another child, who’s not feeling well today.”
