TRAINING-VID REVAMP AFTER TRAGEDY

The NYPD has revised a training video depicting “cop-on-cop” confrontations — including scenarios in which one officer is undercover, in plainclothes or off-duty — in the wake of last week’s fatal friendly-fire shooting, a source said yesterday.

The video is shown to officers to reinforce department guidelines on what can amount to life-and-death street procedures, the law-enforcement source said.

The move came after off-duty Officer Omar Edwards was gunned down by on-duty cop Andrew Dunton in a case of mistaken identity during a car robbery. Edwards had his gun out, chasing the perp who had broken into his car, when Dunton, who responded to the scene, fired on him.

Dunton spent part of yesterday huddled with his lawyers behind closed doors, as Edwards’ grieving widow received a touching visit from the father of the victim of another infamous police shooting, Sean Bell.

Dunton said nothing to reporters as he came and went from lawyer Stuart London’s Manhattan office, where PBA President Patrick Lynch joined them.

Later, at Edwards’ family home, Bell’s father, William, paid his respects to the officer’s widow. “I know how it feels to lose a human being,” William Bell said.

Other visitors included Gov. Paterson, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Edwards’ NYPD football squad teammates who left signed game balls from their victory Sunday.
