BOOK: OBAMA MARRIAGE WASN’T ALWAYS PERFECT

Before they were the First Couple, Barack and Michelle Obama had their share of tough times at home.

A new book by Richard Wolffe, who covered the election for Newsweek, alleges that the Obamas weren’t always the perfect couple we see today.

A period in 2000 was especially rough.

“There was little conversation and even less romance,” Wolffe writes in “Renegade: The Making of a President,” out today.

That description of the First Family is markedly different from the Obamas New Yorkers witnessed over the past weekend when they visited the Big Apple for the first time together.

Barack and Michelle enjoyed a night out that included dinner at a swanky restaurant and a Broadway play that they both loved.
