“The Sages: Warren Buffett, George Soros, Paul Volcker, and the Maelstrom of Markets” (Public Affairs) by Charles R. Morris is out Tuesday. It attempts to condense the strategies of “three men have stood out as beacons of judgment and wisdom.” They are Buffett, the billionaire investor behind Berkshire Hathaway, fund manager Soros and former Fed chairman Volcker.

In “The Richest Man in Town: The Twelve Commandments of Wealth” (Grand Central), out now, author W. Randall Jones sets out to interview the wealthiest person in 100 cities across America and distill his findings into 12 rules for becoming a self-made success. Some Richest Men In Town (RMITs) sharing their thoughts are real estate titan Sam Zell and Bob Stiller, founder of Vermont’s Green Mountain Coffee.
