MIKE JOINS HACK HUNT

A day after a probe was launched to find out why cab companies continued to employ a violent driver, Mayor Bloomberg said yesterday the city would “do what we can to get him off the streets.”

The Taxi and Limousine Commission is investigating why Ramez Akladious, 26, was allowed to continue driving despite three suspensions on his license and a lengthy rap sheet that included arrests for DWI, slashing a passenger with a boxcutter and punching another driver in the head during a traffic jam.

“I read about it [in The Post] and I’m certainly going to take a look at it,” Bloomberg said. “Well, you can rest assured we’ll do what we can to get him off the streets.”

TLC spokesman Allen Fromberg said records show Akladious has not operated a city cab since Jan. 6, the day after he cursed and spat at a female passenger who turned out to be a TLC operations manager.
