The vampire romance “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” had a monster opening — earning $140.7 million in the US in its first three days.
That landed it third on the all-time list behind last year’s $158.4 million opening weekend for “The Dark Knight” and 2007’s $151.1 million haul for “Spider-Man 3.” The movie also more than doubled the $69.6 million take of “Twilight,” the first part of the series.
