Bail boost for Erin ‘peeper’

LOS ANGELES — Bail for the suspected creep accused of secretly videotaping ESPN’s Erin Andrews in the nude was hiked yesterday after the sports siren’s lawyer told of how the peeper allegedly stalked another woman.

Federal prosecutors and lawyers for Michael David Barrett, 48, of Illinois, initially agreed at a hearing yesterday to set bail at $20,000.

But Andrews’ lawyer, Marshall Grossman interjected, telling the story of another woman who claims Barrett stalked her.

“I received a chilling phone call from a woman in Arizona who was for four years stalked by this man over the Internet, the phone and the mail,” he said.

He quoted her as saying: “I had terror in my dream that he was coming though my door.”

Judge Carolyn Turchin then changed her mind and boosted the bond to $100,000. Barrett posted the cash after the hearing and declined to comment as he left the courthouse.

The insurance salesman allegedly stalked Andrews to hotels around the country, where he doctored the peephole to her room’s door so he could see inside.

Barrett, who is accused of posting the footage on the Internet, was caught after he allegedly tried to sell footage of the naked sportscaster to TMZ.com.

He is expected back in court on Monday, when he will enter a plea.
