Queens ‘killer’: Evil alter ego did it

The Queens man accused of slashing the throats of his wife and son in their Corona apartment said his evil alter ego killed them after being ordered to go away, court papers reveal.

Otto Herrarte told cops that he began hearing things when he was very young and then his inner fiend Roberto took control of his body, prosecutors revealed.

“Thursday, I told him it was his time to go away and he was mad and told me that he was going to do this bad thing,” Herrarte told a detective, according to the papers.

He later told the same detective that “Roberto” had also argued with his wife before the killing.

Detectives say Herrarte told them “Roberto” and Edna Herrarte argued about money, which led to the alter killing her and their 14-year-old son Daniel.

“He told me that he used a knife and that they passed away fast,” Herrarte told cops.

But, Herrarte admitted, he cleaned up the mess after “Roberto” carved up the victims while their other son, Daniel, was at school.

“I went to the store and bought black plastic bags and duct tape,” he said in a videotaped statement to cops. “I put my wife and son in the black plastic bags and put them in the closet.”

Herrarte hid the killings from David for a day before asking a friend to drive the 15-year-old to a relative’s house.

“I told my girlfriend to help me with David so he can be safe. I told her to call the police,” he said.

Herrarte was arraigned Sunday night on two counts of murder along with evidence tampering and weapon charges. He is expected to enter a plea on Dec. 22 at a Supreme Court arraignment.

He was held without bail and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
