Key play and player from Jets win

KEY PLAY: CB Darrelle Revis’ first-quarter 67-yard interception return for a touchdown. The Panthers had driven 41 yards to the Jet 39, when Jake Delhomme’s pass bounced off Steve Smith’s foot and into Revis’ arms. He turned it into the Jets’ first defensive TD of the year, saying “That was a sigh of relief.” Carolina had three more turnovers after that and just 135 yards the rest of the way.

KEY PLAYER: Mark Sanchez. He came in with a 61.1 rating and struggling so badly Rex Ryan had to sit in on offensive meetings Friday. Wearing a color-coded armband to let him know his leeway to take risks, Sanchez went 13-of-17 for 134 yards. He even overcame a third-quarter leg injury, putting a brace on and returning the very next series. He threw a pick on his next play, but otherwise took care of the ball, saying “You see what happens when I play smart.”
