PSAL boys soccer roundup: Cardozo edges Bowne for first win

Andrew Charris and Shayan Nematollahi each scored a goal and Gabriel Martorella added two assists as Cardozo broke into the win column with a 2-1 victory over John Bowne in Queens A East boys soccer Saturday afternoon. Both sides are 1-1-0.

Bayside 1, Forest Hills 0: Hamidullah Madani assisted on Andrew Levy’s first goal of the year and Constantin Pougiouklidis came up with 11 saves to record his second clean sheet in as many games for Bayside (2-0-0, Queens A East). Forest Hills is 0-2-2.

Port Richmond 2, McKee/Staten Island Tech 1: John Tadras scored twice and Marc Dietrich made five saves for Port Richmond (2-1-0, Staten Island A). McKee/Staten Island Tech is 0-3-0.

Tottenville 7, CSI/McCown 0: Cihan Yildiz scored twice and William Mcmillen added two assists for Tottenville (2-0-1, Staten Island A). CSI/McCown is 0-2-0.

Campus Magnet 7, Queens HS of Teaching 0: Raymond Powell had two goals and three assists and San Jay Butler had four assists for Campus Magnet (3-0-0, Queens B-I). QHST is 1-1-1.

Beach Channel 7, August Martin 1: Carlos Mejia scored five goals, giving him nine in two games, and Jose Baires had two assists for Beach Channel (3-0-0, Queens B-I). August Martin is 0-2-1.

Frederick Douglass Academy 2, Hunter College HS 1: Adam Eckstein scored a goal, Conner Almon assisted on it, and Drew Adler made six saves for Hunter College HS (0-1-0, Manhattan B-III) in a loss. Frederick Douglass is 1-0-0.

HS for Math, Science and Engineering 2, Roosevelt 1: Evin Nadaner scored twice and Jacob Saphier made nine saves for HS for Math, Science and Engineering (1-0-0, Manhattan B-II). Roosevelt is 1-1-0.
