What celebs did last summer

IT’S nearly official. Summer’s over. The kids are back to school, we’re pretending to get excited about renewing our commitment to, um, working. We asked some of the most famous New Yorkers (and a few LA types) what they did with their time off this year. Some of them even answered.

ANN CURRY

Paris. I went with my daughter. I travel so much for work, so getting time away with your children is really key.

WILL ARNETT

The UK. England’s great. There’s a lot to do there. There are a lot of talented, funny people that I love to work with, and London is such a fantastic town. As a New Yorker, I feel that it’s very similar.

BRIAN WILLIAMS

Jersey Shore, stolen weekends. My father lives in Red Bank. I grew up in Middletown. Plop me down on the Jersey Shore, and I’m a happy boy. I’m used to anything from Sandy Hook down about to, maybe, Long Branch. That’s my turf.

KATHY GRIFFIN

Mexico. Puerto Vallarta — I love it there. It was nice and quiet because of the swine flu!

KIM KARDASHIAN

I went to South Africa. The Diamond Empowerment Fund sent me and my sister Khloe there to work with the children; we also went on a safari.

GAYLE KING

Went on a cruise to the Mediterranean with Oprah.

BOBBY FLAY

Rome, with my 13-year-old daughter. My goal starting last year was to take her to one city outside of America, just the two of us, for like four or five days, and do the 101 of that city. Last year I took her to Paris. Next year she wants to go to London.

JILL HENNESSEY

Jersey Shore, baby, all the way! Ate a lot of Jersey tomatoes, corn, ran after a one-and-a-half-year-old and a five-and-a-half-year-old.

LAURENT TOURONDEL

South of France. Visited the rosé country close to Marseilles and Cassis. Went boating, played pétanque, drank rosé, ate good food.”
