Carmelo Anthony likely to play against Spurs

The Knicks have listed Carmelo Anthony as probable for Thursday’s game vs. San Antonio as he will make his return after a three-game absence from a sprained left ankle.

The Knicks have back-to-back games to start the Texas Triangle trip so Melo could conceivably decide not to play in Houston Friday if he is sore.

The Knicks lost all three games Melo missed by double digits – to Oklahoma City and twice to Toronto. Anthony missed 15 games last season and the Knicks were a respectable 7-8.

The Knicks will once again be without their two top point guards, Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni and Metta World Peace.
