‘X Factor’ drops to a ratings low

‘The X Factor” can’t catch a break.

The Simon Cowell singing competition show posted a 1.5 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo on Wednesday, a series low for a regular episode.

That was down 32 percent from its last episode that aired on Oct. 9, before the Fox show went on hiatus for the World Series.

“X Factor” also took a 37 percent hit with total viewers, drawing just 4.5 million on Wednesday, down from 7.1 million.

Adding insult to injury, the episode was plagued by a voting glitch, forcing all 13 finalists to perform for a re-vote on Thursday night and pushing its first live results show — featuring a performance by Selena Gomez — to next week.

“The X Factor” aired against the 47th Annual CMA Awards, which was the top-rated program of the night with a 4.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 16.6 million viewers.
