Israeli leaders remained tight-lipped yesterday about Egypt’s instability, afraid of saying anything that could harm its relationship with its oldest and closest Arab ally.
“No way does Israel want to do anything to influence the current situation. If a government official would say anything on the record it would only make things worse,” Barak Ravid, international correspondent for Haaretz newspaper, told The Post.
