NEW YORK — New Jersey Nets head coach Avery Johnson was fined $25,000 Friday for improper conduct towards a game official after he was ejected against the 76ers earlier this week.
Johnson was ejected for the first time as Nets’ coach during the third quarter of the Feb. 2 game against Philadelphia at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
He had been hit with two technical fouls after arguing a call involving the Nets’ Devin Harris.
The Nets lost the game 106-92.
The fine was announced by NBA Executive Vice President Stu Jackson.
