Athlete & Nike exec face Ritz sex raps

A pro basketball player and a Nike executive, in town for an international hoops exhibition, are accused of sexually abusing a woman yesterday at The Ritz-Carlton hotel, sources said.

The two men — who played together on Fordham University’s 2004 basketball squad — face felony sex-offense charges stemming from the 5 a.m. incident at the Central Park South hotel, according to the sources.

Michael Haynes, 29, who most recently played power forward for Ludwigsburg in Germany, allegedly held the woman down as pal Brandyn Cooper, 27, a Nike marketing exec, performed oral sex on her, authorities said.

It’s unclear how the woman, who has addresses in Manhattan and Croatia, got into her alleged attacker’s room, but sources said she knew one of the men.

Ritz-Carlton spokeswoman Vivian Deuschl confirmed the arrests but declined further comment.

Players from Team USA were staying at the hotel for the Nike World Basketball Festival, which Haynes and Cooper were planning to watch at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Two Team USA officials saw the suspects being busted around 7:30 a.m., sources said.

Calls to Haynes’ Upper West Side address went unanswered.

It was unclear if he or Cooper, of Portland, Ore., retained attorneys.

Haynes has also played in France, Poland, Spain and Israel.

Cooper started right out of college as an intern at Nike and is now head of NBA marketing there.

Nike did not return calls for comment.
