No danger from Times Square chemical spill

Investigators said no one was at risk from a spill of cleaning fluid late Sunday night in a Times Square building

Workers near the top floor of 1515 Broadway, which serves as Viacom’s headquarters and houses the Minskoff and Nokia theaters, spilled about 10 gallons of hydrogen peroxide.

Seventh Avenue was shut down near 45th Street, close to where the failed Times Square bombing took place, while the leak was cleaned up and the two people exposed to the chemical were decontaminated, a fire department spokesman said.

Traffic was moving again in Times Square Monday morning.
