Irked Girardi calls Yankees team meeting

One day after fuming in Kansas City over an embarrassing shutout loss, manager Joe Girardi gathered the Yankees in the clubhouse yesterday afternoon for a team meeting, The Post has learned.

The team spent about 25 minutes in the restricted areas of the clubhouse about three hours before last night’s game with the Tigers. No one was willing to talk about what was said in the meeting, but one player described it as positive.

“The clubhouse is the clubhouse,” Girardi said.

Girardi was as agitated after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to the Royals as he has shown publicly all season. Bryan Bullington two-hit the Yankees to finish a 3-3 road trip. Entering last night’s game, the Yankees were 6-8 in August and have yet to win a series in the month.
