Ex-Met Cora signs with Rangers

The Texas Rangers have agreed to terms on a minor league contract with infielder Alex Cora.

The team made the announcement before Tuesday night’s game at Tampa Bay.

Cora, 34, is expected to join Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. He appeared in 62 games for the Mets this season, hitting .207 with 20 RBIs. The Mets released Cora on Aug. 7.

After leaving, he said the Mets did not show an ability to respond when things went bad.
