Councilman Seabrook’s wife hears of cheating hubby’s workday ‘meetings’ with mistress at trial

City Councilman Larry Seabrook’s wife showed up at his corruption retrial today — just in time to hear testimony about her cheating hubby’s workday “meetings” with his mistress.

Maria Diaz — who skipped opening statements on Tuesday — sat stone-faced as a prosecution witness described how she regularly tracked down Seabrook’s gal pal, Gloria Jones-Grant, at his downtown Manhattan council office.

“About 80 to 85 percent of the time, I’d be able to reach her there,” witness Philesha Jude said.

Jude, who formerly worked for several nonprofits that Seabrook funded with more than $1 million in council “slush” funds, said the Bronx Democrat also frequently met with Jones-Grant inside her office at the groups’ headquarters in The Bronx. But she said she didn’t know what went on behind closed doors.

But Jude said she didn’t know what went on behind closed doors, noting: “I wasn’t present for any of those meetings.”

Prosecutors maintain that Seabrook secretly used the non-profits to steer money to his friends and relatives, and that Jones-Grant’s “sole qualification” to head them was her illicit relationship with the career pol.

During Seabrook’s first trial, which ended in a hung jury last year, Jones-Grant testified that she had an “intimate relationship” with the career pol from 2004 to 2007, and still stayed “in touch” with him two or three times a week.
