Tom Cruise spent his first quality time with daughter Suri in nearly a month yesterday.
The “Mission: Impossible” star cradled the 6-year-old outside Robert De Niro’s Greenwich Hotel after a day of hanging out in the tony digs and hitting a gym class at Chelsea Piers.
It’s the first time the megastar has seen Suri in person since Katie Holmes slapped him with divorce papers in an effort to protect her daughter from Scientology.
“He’s been dying to see her,” a source close to Cruise told People magazine. “He’ll be with her whenever he can.”
Cruise, 50, flew in from Los Angeles after he wrapped his latest movie, “Oblivion,” on Sunday, a source said.
Cruise picked up his daughter at Holmes’ new pad in a Chelsea apartment building, where the former “Dawson’s Creek” actress has an agreement with a Whole Foods on the ground floor to use its service exit into the building to avoid paparazzi, the source said.
He spent less than five minutes inside and never saw Holmes — which is how she intends to keep it, the source said.
Holmes, 33, filed for divorce on June 28.
The Tinseltown couple was expected in court yesterday, but the hearing was adjourned because on July 9 they reached a settlement pending a judge’s approval.
The deal puts severe restrictions on Suri’s involvement with Scientology.
“They both know they’re going to have to make decisions together regarding Suri for many, many years,” a source told the magazine. “And they know she loves them both.”
