Bicyclist killed in hit-&-run

A cyclist was fatally struck in Queens last night by a speeding car whose driver fled the scene, cops and witnesses said.

The victim, who was carrying a bouquet of flowers, was struck at around 10:50 p.m. at Greenpoint Avenue and 39th Place in Sunnyside.

“He was laying on his side with one arm underneath him,” said a witness, Muhammed Habid, 55.

The victim, whose identity was not released, died at the scene.

Habid’s nephew saw the black sedan continue east after the crash.

“He was flying by at an amazing speed,” said Aymaan Reham, 14. “All I saw was a crushed windshield.”

Another witness said the vehicle was swerving.

“It almost hit a dump truck. It almost hit people in the intersection and me,” said Sara Hennessy.

“It almost even hit a cop car sitting there,” Hennessy, 31, said.
