Jeanine Pirro’s estranged hubby charged in Conn. attack

STAMFORD, Conn. — A well-known attorney and Republican fundraiser from New York has been arraigned on charges he attacked a woman inside a Connecticut restaurant.

Albert Pirro, of White Plains, didn’t enter a plea Tuesday to charges of unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct, the Greenwich Time reports.

Pirro grabbed and shook a woman inside the J-House restaurant in Greenwich on June 15, according to a police report.

“Shut the f–k up! Let’s go!” Pirro, 65, barked at weeping Glorianne Mattesi as he grabbed and shook the 45-year-old Realtor’s arms, a security guard told cops in Greenwich, Conn.

Restaurant workers said the dispute alarmed guests, and the woman appeared to be in distress, according to a police report.

Pirro then “ran into two other female friends . . . and Mattesi became jealous because the other women were talking to him,” according to a police report.

“Mattesi became very upset and wanted to leave, but Pirro didn’t want her to go as he wanted to explain the situation,” according to the report, which noted both had been drinking.

Mattesi “appeared to be in distress as [Pirro] . . . was also observed grabbing her arms and vigorously [shaking] her,” the report said.

Pirro is the estranged husband of Jeanine Pirro, a former Westchester County prosecutor who ran for U.S. Senate as a Republican in 2006, then dropped out of that race to run for attorney general. She lost to Democrat Andrew Cuomo.

Albert Pirro spent 17 months in federal prison after being convicted of fraud, tax evasion and other charges in 2000.

That conviction and other misadventures, including fathering a child with another woman, have often been blamed for Jeanine Pirro’s failure to rise beyond the local level in Republican politics.

Albert Pirro and his lawyer, Edward Gavin, declined to comment on his latest arrest.

He is due back in court on Sept. 11.
