NYer gets prison for sex trafficking

A New York City man will spend three to nine years in prison for the sex trafficking of an underage girl.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. announced the sentence Wednesday for Lamont Brunson.

Brunson will be required to register as a sex offender when he gets out of prison.

He pleaded guilty on July 18.

The prosecutor says the victim courageously came forward after four years of physical and psychological abuse. She was 17 when it began.

The defendant branded her with a tattoo of his street name to show ownership. Said Vance: “Human beings are not property.”
