‘Brooklyn Butcher’ Levi Aron gets 40 years to life in plea deal; likely to die behind bars

The Brooklyn Butcher will likely die behind bars under a plea deal that would land him 40 years to life in prison, sources said today.

Under the deal, confessed killer Levi Aron, 36, would plead guilty to murder and get 25 years to life for that crime — plus 15 years for kidnapping — in the slaying of Leiby Kletzky, 8, sources said.

Leiby’s heartbroken family did not want to proceed to a trial and agreed to the deal, according to a law-enforcement source with knowledge of the negotiations.

“It looks like there’s a deal, and they can move on and live their life,” said Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), whose district includes the neighborhood where the boy lived with his family.

Aron confessed to capturing Leiby off the street and holding him for more than a day in July 2011.

He later told cops he smothered the boy in a “panic” over the intense search for him.

He then cut off his feet and left them in his freezer, cops said. The confessed killer then threw the rest of the corpse in a garbage bin 2 miles away.

A spokesman for the Brooklyn DA’s Office would not comment on the deal, which won’t be official until a judge hears it during Aron’s next court appearance on Aug. 9.

In May, Aron looked like a disgusting blob at a video court hearing, as he appeared to have put on some 50 pounds since he was nabbed last summer.

The fat fiend’s gut spilled over on the video from Rikers Island.

“He’s definitely not working out,” said an onlooker. Aron weighed about 172 pounds when he was busted.
