The signature of a woman who died two years ago has turned up on nominating petitions of state Sen. David Storobin (R-Brooklyn), who is seeking re-election.
Storobin’s Democratic challenger, Simcha Felder, is screaming fraud and is filing a lawsuit to get him off the ballot.
On July 6, Storobin attested to securing the signature of Hilda Danger, a voter residing at 1576 Ocean Ave., in Midwood, Brooklyn. But records show that Danger died June 6, 2010.
Steven Stites, a Storobin spokesman, said Felder was trying to blow up an innocent mistake because his own petitions are “rife with fraud,” a claim Storobin’s campaign has not made in court.
Storobin pulled off a stunning victory over City Councilman Lew Fidler when he won the March 20 special election to replace corrupt state Sen. Carl Kruger.
