Alleged Molotov cocktail bomber speaks

The accused bomber who lobbed a Molotov cocktail at a temple and three other targets in January boldly spoke up in court about how long its taking the case to proceed.

“I was indicted in February, time has expired for a [psychiatric] examination. This has been going on for nine months, Judge,” charged Ray Lazier Lengend to a Queens judge.

Lengend, 40, was found unfit for trial by the court-ordered doctors and prosecutors are proactively challenging their findings.

On the contrary, the alleged glass-bottle-bomb thrower declines to cooperate for another test.

“I did speak to a doctor in March and there was no findings in my psych evaluation…there is no need to stop proceedings in this case,” the former tow-truck driver continued to explain to the judge.

The Queens Village resident, whose been held without bail since his January arrest, was ordered to be evaluated by the prosecutor’s doctors last week, but he refused.

Lengend is accused of setting fires on New Years Eve at four locations throughout Queens and Long Island which included a Hindu temple and Islamic mosque on the east-bound Van Wyck Expressway Service Road.

He is facing life in prison for federal and state arson as a hate crime charges for the fiery crime spree.
