WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney’s campaign announced a group of high-profile Republicans, including Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who will get speaking roles at the GOP convention — fueling speculation that they aren’t on Romney’s short list for vice president.
Top Republicans with no announced role yet include Ohio Sen. Rob Portman and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
