Real Madrid, AC Milan battle at Yankee Stadium, over Kaka’s services

Real Madrid and AC Milan will meet at tonight not just over a soccer game — a World Football Challenge tilt at 8 at Yankee Stadium — but also over an iconic player: Kaka.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani is expected to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez today in the city to try to hammer out a deal for the Brazilian star, whom The Post reported has been a transfer target of the Red Bulls as well.

“I will speak with Florentino Perez in New York,’’ Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. “It will be very hard for us to sign Kaka because of his high wages, but he is a player who is part of our history.’’

Kaka led Milan to a Champions League crown, and was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007. They extracted a world-record transfer fee from Real Madrid for his services, and now the la Liga champions are asking for 25 million pounds for him, while AC Milan is trying to get him on a one-year loan deal with Real Madrid paying some of his salary.

Meanwhile, The Post reported that as of last month the Red Bulls actually had the highest bid for Kaka’s services, before moving on and signing Tim Cahill from Everton for $1.5 million. The Red Bulls — who host Houston Friday — will surely be monitoring the 30-year-old attacker’s situation closely.
