The championship game of the Atlantic-10 women’s basketball tournament will be held at the Barclays Center starting in 2013.
The title game will be the first women’s basketball game played at Barclays, which will be the home of the Brooklyn Nets and the Men’s A-10 basketball tournament.
“Barclays Center is proud to announce its first women’s basketball game,” said Sean Saadeh, Vice President of Programming for Barclays Center. “Our venue’s inaugural season will offer a strong lineup of college basketball, culminating with the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships for both the men and women.”
The top 12 teams in the conference will play for the A-10 championship and an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA tournament. The championship game will be aired on ESPN on March 16.
The first three rounds of the tournament will be held at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia from March 8-11.
