Starr Report

Boy, yesterday was a slow day in the land of TV — until I came across this gem while perusing the Worldwide Interwebs.

A guy in Tuscaloosa, Ala. named Walter White has topped the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office’s “Most Wanted List” for . . . wait for it . . . violating his probation in a meth-manufacturing case (the italics are mine).

If you’re not familiar with AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” the show’s protagonist-turned-anti-hero/meth-cooker is also named Walter White (he’s played by Bryan Cranston).

According to the report in al.com, this Walter White, who’s 55 (the “BB” Walter is 51), was put on probation in 2010 after his 2008 arrest on charges of “trafficking methamphetamine” and a host of other charges. He violated his probation last January after being arrested on the same charges in a neighboring county, according to the report.

Speaking of the “Interwebs,” Motor Trend Magazine’s
YouTube channel will offer five days of programming next week — featuring 11 videos, culminating Thursday (Aug. 23) with the announcement of the winner of Motor Trend’s 2012 Best Driver’s Car competition and, on Friday, The World’s Greatest Drag Race 2.

Over on the broadcast side, vis a vis special programming, MSG will feature “Giants Week” all next week. It’s basically a week of programming devoted to all-things Big Blue including “Live From Giants Training Camp” (Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.) and “Giants Chronicles: Eli Manning — A Year in Review,” which airs Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

More Giants: “The Complete History of the New York Giants” will be out on DVD and digital download on Tuesday, Aug. 21. It tracks the team’s entire 89-year history (including last year’s Super Bowl victory) and is a co-production of NFL Films and Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment.

Parks and Recreation” co-star Jim O’Heir is one of the many celebs lined up for GSN’s updated version of “The Pyramid,” which kicks off Sept. 3 (at 6 p.m.) with host Mike Richards (“Beauty and the Geek”).

As in the original game show — hosted (mostly) by Dick Clark — two celebrities will be paired each week, with “Community” co-stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Danny Pudi featured in the premiere week.

Other celeb contestants include Samantha Harris, Josh Malina, Melissa Peterman, Dot Marie Jones, Megyn Price and Chandra Wilson.

The show is executive-produced by Michael Davies, who I still hold responsible, to this day, for never adding a question mark to his first big success, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” Is there no justice?

Last, but not least:

Sykes will host two election specials for Logo, taped before a live audience in Times Square, airing Sept. 10 and Nov. 5 . . . AMC has renewed “The Pitch” for a second season . . . Camila Nakagawa (MTV’s “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes”) will participate in the Hero-Thon Half Marathon, sponsored by T
he Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, this January in San Antonio . . . Happy Birthday to “Lady Macca” — that’s People magazine PR queen Julie Farin, to you.
