Qns. man charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed wife to death

A Queens man was charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his wife to death in her home yesterday, law-enforcement sources said.

The body of 29-year-old Samantha Seelall was found stuffed under her bed with a plastic bag over her head in the house on 117th street in Richmond Hill about 2:30 p.m.

Police charged her husband Ganeesh Seelall, 39, with murder, aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon, as well as tampering with a weapon, authorities said.

Her childhood best friend Alecia Salik, 28, said Seelall grew up in Guyana and had worked in home care in Manhattan.

The hard-working mom supported her husband, who did not work, and their 10-year-old daughter, as well as her 14-year-old stepdaughter, according to Salik.

“Oh my God, she was such a sweetheart, she was a very hard-working woman,” said Salik, devastated. “She would do anything for anyone. This is so sad.”

The husband led responders to the bedroom after someone called 911 for an ambulance. It was not immediately clear who was home during the slaying.

Seelall was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

Neighbor Hilda Betran, 46, was also stunned by the tragedy.

“It’s so sad, especially for their two little girls,” said Betran. “It is scary. I don’t even want to think about it.”
