Former Giant Strahan lands ‘Live!’ gig: report

Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan will be named as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live! With Kelly, according to a report.

Strahan, who was a guest co-host on the show earlier this year, impressed ABC executives and will be revealed as the full-time host on Sept. 4, according to TMZ.com.

“Hey guys, big news,” Ripa said. “It’s been an exciting season here at ‘Live,’ but the time has come to mark your calendars. On Sept. 4, I’ll be joined by my new co-host.”

A representative for Strahan was allegedly seen outside the show’s headquarters on 67th and Columbus with a huge smile on his face.

Strahan will fill the void left by Regis Philbin, who left the show last November after a 28 year run. Ripa had hosted the show alongside Philbin since 2001 and has co-hosted with 59 different people since the 80-year-old’s departure.

The Post’s Michael Starr reported on Tuesday that Strahan’s visibility on “Live” had many thinking he would be Philbin’s likely heir.

Starr also cited reports that Strahan, who’s an analyst on “Fox NFL Sunday,” has put his beachfront bachelor pad in Hermosa Beach, Calif. up for sale — asking $1.8 million for the three-bedroom, four-bathroom property, according to realtor.com.
