Former Giant Strahan is Ripa’s new TV man: report

Looks like you can call it “Live With Kelly and Michael.”

Ex-Giants star Michael Strahan will be named Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Sept. 4, according to various reports.

As The Post first reported yesterday, Strahan seemed to be Philbin’s likely heir apparent, not only because of his many appearances opposite Ripa, but because he recently put his bachelor pad in Hermosa Beach, Calif. up for sale (most likely so he could be closer to the show’s studios on West 67th Street).

ABC officials aren’t commenting, but insiders told both tmz.com and broadcastingandcable.com, among others, that Strahan has won the job — and will replace Regis Philbin, who left the show last November.

Out of the many guest co-anchors who subbed following Philbin’s departure, Strahan logged the most appearances opposite Ripa, who announced Monday that “Live” would name her new co-host Sept. 4.

Strahan, who’s also an analyst on “Fox NFL Sunday,” is expected to keep that job, according to the Los Angeles Times.

In addition to his many appearances opposite Ripa, and his Fox football gig, Strahan co-starred on a short-lived sitcom, “Brothers,” which aired on Fox in 2009.

Seth Meyers, Jerry O’Connell, Josh Groban and Nick Lachey were reportedly in the running for the job.

“We’re not commenting on any of the co-host speculation,” a show spokeswoman told The Post late yesterday.
