Fizzy tizzy for ‘Dom’ and rival

They’re bubbling mad.

The makers of Dom Perignon champagne filed a false-advertising suit yesterday that seeks to put a cork in a competitor’s claim that its sparkling French wines are “Rated the No. 1 Champagne in the World.”

Moët Hennessy USA says Armand de Brignac “is intentionally misleading consumers” about the quality of its booze — including its famous gold-colored “Ace of Spades” bottles.

The drop is favored by hip-hop stars including Jay-Z, and helped spark the notorious SoHo club brawl between Chris Brown and Drake earlier this year.

Moët Hennessy’s suit notes that the “Ace of Spades” — also known as Brut Gold — is the only one of Armand de Brignac’s “cuvees” to be rated number one by FINE Champagne Magazine, “and that rating occurred in 2010.”

“Since then, Armand de Brignac’s Brut Gold champagne has fared much worse in that periodical’s testing, rated No. 23 in 2011 and and No. 22 in 2012,” court papers charge.

In addition to barring the company from touting the “No. 1” rating, the suit, filed in Manhattan federal court, seeks unspecified damages for unfair competition and all of Armand de Brignac’s profits from “its false and misleading advertisement.”

A spokeswoman for Armand de Brignac didn’t return requests for comment.
