The man who beat up and tried to rape a Greenwich Village masseuse after posing as a customer is still on the loose — leading to Council speaker Christine Quinn and residents to pass out flyers with a picture of the attacker at a subway station this morning.

“This attack is just a horrible attack. She was terribly beaten before she was raped,” said Quinn at the West 4th Street subway station, near Sixth Avenue, shortly after 7 a.m. “If you saw anything or if the image looks familiar, please help the police apprehend this man.”

The sicko walked into Body Work, located on Washington Place, near Sixth Avenue, and asked for a massage about 10 a.m. Friday, police sources said. He then beat up the masseuse, 41, until she blacked out, and attempted to rape her, but she regained consciousness, sources added.

The creep then fled after stealing an iPhone, iPad, and $200 from the business, law-enforcement sources said.

Quinn added that it was important the victim knows that “the community of Greenwich Village is praying for her and rallying behind her.”

Cops say the suspect is 6 feet tall, in his early twenties, and has a medium build. He wore a dark Kangol-style hat, a dark T-shirt, camouflage shorts, and a backpack during the sex assault.

“I am surprised, we generally feel safe in our streets in the Village,” said William Kelley, the executive director of the Village Alliance, the local business improvement district. “It’s more shocking. People need to stay aware. We just have to stay vigilant.”

A woman was also raped in her residence on Cornelia Street Aug. 15, after a man offered to help the intoxicated victim into her apartment, law-enforcement sources said.

“This community is always concerned. It’s the second in a week,” said David Gruber, the chairman of Community Board 2. “In this neighborhood, it’s unusual.”

Cops do not believe the two attacks are connected, since the suspect in the Aug. 15 rape is described as a middle-aged Asian man, about 5-foot-9, sources said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1.800.577.TIPS.
