Lesser-known sisters steal Britney and Miley’s thunder

It’s a battle of the sisters as two lesser-knowns are stealing their pop-star siblings’ thunder this week.

Yesterday, amid the onslaught of tracks from Britney Spears’ new album, “Britney Jean” (out next week but already streaming on iTunes), the princess of pop’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn, released her very own single.

It’s a country track titled “How Could I Want More,” and it’s earning shockingly good buzz on music blogs.

Idolator’s Sam Lansky wrote that the song “hews closer to Taylor Swift at her most understated, or even Kacey Musgraves at her simplest.”

Twenty-two-year-old Jamie Lynn, of course, gained infamy when she became pregnant at age 16.

Shortly thereafter, the teen star left her gig as star of the Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101” and has been on career hiatus ever since. Take a listen to her track and judge for yourself whether this will be her triumphant comeback.

This came on the heels of twerk tart Miley Cyrus getting shown up on the red carpet at Sunday’s American Music Awards by her half-sister Brandi.

Wearing a Rachel Zoe Collection sequined mini-dress, the 26-year-old Brandi easily outshone her more famous sister, who chose a revealing blazer, sans undershirt, adorned with two jumbo clothespins.

Brandi was working the awards as a correspondent for Spin Media, and she’s also part of the pop duo Frank and Derol, for which she plays guitar.

After this, she may want to consider a career in style.
