Jazz forward Howard has interest from Knicks, Nets: report

Josh Howard has the attention of both New York teams.

The former Jazz forward has interest from both the Knicks and Nets, according to a tweet from Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports (via SI.com). Howard is also reportedly working out for the Bobcats with further interest from the Pacers and Warriors. The Jazz are still in the mix, too.

The 6-foot-7 Howard, 32, played in just 43 games last year for Utah before underdoing arthroscopic knee surgery. He averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 23 minutes per game. He signed a one-year contract worth about $2.2 million last December with the Jazz and is expected to sign with a team for somewhere around the veteran’s minimum.

Six years ago with the Mavericks, Howard averaged 19.9 points per game and bookended that with seasons of 18.9 and 18 points per game. His career high in rebounds (7 per game) also occurred in 2007-08.
