What London Whale?
Despite the massive trading blunder, JPMorgan Chase reigns supreme as the best investment bank to work for, according to an annual survey by jobs site Vault.com, which polled 3,500 execs across the Street to measure employee satisfaction in a number of categories.
JPMorgan held onto the top spot for a second year even though its reputation took a hit in May when it disclosed billions in losses involving a trader known as the “London Whale.”
The bank, run by CEO Jamie Dimon, also beat out so-called bulge-bracket investment banks that continue to lose their cachet. Goldman Sachs slipped from the second-best place to work in North America to third place in the survey.
“JPMorgan ranked well ahead of its bulge bracket investment banking peers in nearly every workplace category,” said Derek Loosvelt, senior finance editor at Vault.
