Gun-smuggle soldier guilty

A former sergeant in a US Special Forces National Guard unit pleaded guilty yesterday to selling high-powered weapons that wound up being smuggled to China through Queens.

Joseph Debose, 30, faces a likely sentence of up to six years in federal prison for the scheme, which was uncovered after Chinese authorities found a cache of guns hidden in stereo equipment shipped from Queens by another conspirator.

One of those guns was traced to Debose, who was based in an elite North Carolina National Guard unit.

A sting operation nabbed him as he arrived at a meeting with a truckload of guns for the next shipment, according to the Brooklyn US Attorney’s Office, which prosecuted the case.
